July 24, 2019 – Multi-disciplinary talent, artist and GRAMMY-nominated producer Victoria Kühne has unveiled the video for her brand new, debut single “Vice”, out now via her own label Victoria Records. Like a fine art painting come to life, the “Vice” video, finds Victoria’s Venus character at the start of her journey to self-empowerment, complete with ecstatic sexually-enlightened energy, an anthemic chant, shuddering synths, neon beats and fabulous fashion looks from the likes of Gucci, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and even some of Victoria’s own personal designs.
Victoria, a creative force and curator at heart, has established herself as the boss of her artistic vision, paving her own way as an independent artist, in-demand producer, songwriter and music video director, recording studio owner and more. Shining a light on Victoria’s female empowerment mindset, “Vice” - the first in a series of singles that tell a story of duality through a Venus creature - finds Venus bored in Heaven so she goes down to Earth to experience pleasure and sin. Touching on themes of pain and pleasure, power and temptation, and the idea of intentionally making decisions – whether good or bad – to experience life to the fullest, while always remaining in control. It’s fitting that the motto “The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it” hangs on the wall of Victoria Records, the label and world-class recording studio that Victoria opened in 2015, based in her hometown of Monterrey, Mexico.
"Vice' is about how you come to a point of partying too hard and living on the edge every night, but it’s still never enough,” says Victoria. “You’re pushing it to the limit and being young. You’re completely in charge of your body and your decisions. It’s a nice intro to where I’m at.”
Given Victoria’s message of embracing female power, one of her missions has been to use her position as a rare female studio owner and in-demand female producer for many artists in Latin America as a platform to mentor and create opportunities for women within the music industry. Her reputation has earned her invitations to Berklee College of Music’s first-ever Women’s Empowerment Symposium as a guest of honor and the Art of Institute of Houston to instruct master classes and host conferences. Victoria Records, her state-of-the-art recording studio, was featured on Mix Magazine’s “Class of 2018” list of the year’s coolest studios and has welcomed the likes of The Strokes, MIA and Local Natives. Earlier this year, she received a 2019 GRAMMY® Award nomination for Best Tropical Latin Album - the only female producer nominated in that category – for her work on “Ponle Actitud” by Felipe Peláez. She joined Jonaz on the “Netflix & Chill” duet, which clocked over 1 million streams. She also lent her talents to the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for "Desierto" by Academy Award® winners Jonas Cuarón and Alfonso Cuarón. Entering the world of nightlife in 2019, Victoria brought the FINE/LINE restaurant and nightclub to life in Monterrey, Mexico. With impressive contributions across music, film, theater and nightlife, Victoria is now releasing her own solo music for the first time, inviting us into yet another facet of her boundless creativity.
